The Clio series is based on principles shared among many manufactures of high end cables. Solid, pure OCC silver conductors, sheathed in over-sized Teflon tubes (Air/Teflon dielectric) and braided into a round LITZ formation produce the very basic cable structure of all Clio cables.

Our Clio series of cables, aims at using the above ingredients and incorporate them in coherent designs that ensure consistency in  performance but also a durable construction with suitable mechanical  characteristics and a professional finish.

Our Clio cables are not random formations of wires with a performance that relies on wishful thinking. They are not evaluated solely on the grounds of listening tests and personal opinions. These cables do what they do because their design produces consistent results. They are not a braiding show off of multiple conductors. Clio cables are built with precision, based on accurate designs to produce a desired balance of inductance, capacitance and resistance values with measurable values and consistent figures. Such electrical characteristics depend on the size and number of the  conductors, the dielectric among them, their proximity and alignment.

The high quality EMI and RFI  shielding we use on these cables is a rarity among audio cables. Adequate shielding materials and their effective application add up significantly to the costs of a cable. For the shielding to work as intended without having a negative impact, each cable design needs to be based on a precise  architecture that takes into account all of the parameters. Such a  process is a lot more complex than simply braiding Teflon silver wires  and inserting them in a copper braid. It requires constant measurements and accuracy on the way each part of the cable is formed and applied.

Clio are professionally finished. Our focus on durability as well as our commitment in producing user friendly cables has resulted in handmade  products that share the precision, elegance and durable design of high end factory made cables. Their entire construction is very well thought. PTFE sealing layers are being applied onto the metallic parts of the cable as well as on the low density portions of insulation in order to  offer mechanical support, seal against the environmental impact  (moisture, temperature changes, physical contact and abrasion) to  prevent aging, corrosion and inevitably the rise of the dielectric impact of the cable.  These are fine details that are proven to be very valuable over the lifetime of  the cable

Our very reasonable pricing is another factor that makes our cables stand out and it reflects an honest account of costs of materials and labour required for these cables to be produced.

Our Clio cables address effectively a common characteristic of solid silver cables where emphasis is given to the higher frequencies at the expense  of bass and mid-range. Clio will not sound as bright and edgy but will  achieve a better balance across the frequency spectrum with a well defined upper bass and mid-range. Often, detail is perceived by the  listener as the clarity in the higher end of the spectrum. Such a single ended focus is somehow striking but not particularly revealing. It can be tiring over time and it leaves some aspects of music that are more  important than its clinical presentation hidden. These are issues that  our Clio cables avoid while delivering a very real interpretation of  the recording. The low capacitance of these cables enables tighter mids  and bass. The treble is open without grain and edge.

These solid silver Clio have a great performance-price ratio. Despite their  very low price they deliver the same hi-end performance one can expect  from some of the best cables in the market. Their low price is not an  indication of their performance but it represents an honest account of  costs and labour required for their production. For these cables we use solid, single crystal OCC silver conductors throughout. The conductors  of the cable are measured to create the desirable effective gauge as well as a good capacitance / inductance balance. Intimacy among the  opposing conductors is kept to the minimum by limiting the number of cores in the braid to what is absolutely necessary.. The embodiments of these solid silver conductors with appropriate gauge and dielectric deliver excellent sonic results,  difficult to be achieved with most of the other types of wires.
